NOW MORE THAN EVER . . .

As the forces of greed and ignorance in Washington dismantle 50 years of environmental progress, we may feel powerless to impact our future. What can we do?

We can continue to act locally and support Sonoma County’s green and progressive legacy. We can work to elect truly green and progressive candidates to positions in our local government – people who will ensure that we sustain local institutions that protect our water, our ability to grow local healthy food, produce clean energy,  sustain clean air, and who plan for the impacts of climate change and environmental disasters.

We can elect representatives that insist on protecting all members of our community, including those who came here from somewhere else. We can elect representatives that serve our community as a whole – not just the interests of the powerful—and who know that a community where all are housed, have access to healthcare, food, and a good education, is a safer community.

We may not get much help from Washington – but we can work to ensure the health and safety of our local community by staying informed, connecting with others and supporting local leaders who align with our values– leaders who are willing to fight for these values locally, in Sacramento and in Washington.  SCCA will continue to do what it has always done – work to elect green progressive leaders and advocate for a healthy environment for ALL of our community.
