SCCA Volunteer Opportunities  

1. Volunteer for our Grassroots Gourmet Gala Our annual benefit, held each June, is a great chance to meet Congress members, Assembly members, Supervisors and Councilors, as well the grassroots activists working on issues in your neighborhood.  We need help from pouring wine to procuring donations for our silent auction.  VOLUNTEER NOW!!!
2. Know Your Neighbor (KYN)  KYN is an exciting new program that supports politics the old fashioned way, through one on one communication; on the phone, at the door, and at events.  Too often, the slick mailer or television advertisement helps the pro-sprawl candidate to victory.  With KYN, you can join other people like yourself in your own neighborhood who support progressive values to ensure that your candidates are elected.  VOLUNTEER NOW!!!
3. Special Promotional Events We are always looking for volunteer hosts to hold SCCA socials at their homes.  Spreading the grassroots message is a full time job for us, but we can't reach everyone.  We need your help!  A host would open up their home, get some light refreshments, invite their friends, family, and co-workers, and introduce the guest speaker from SCCA.   VOLUNTEER NOW!!!
4. Independent Fundraising   A great way to help the organization is to organize your own little fundraiser for our group.  Simply get your neighbors to donate their unwanted stuff, and hold a rummage sale for SCCA at your home. VOLUNTEER NOW!!!
5. Trades People Needed We have moved into a new office, and there is lots of work that we need to get done.  We need shelves built, carpet and linoleum installed, painting done, sheet rocking work, and landscaping.  If you have a trade under your belt and want to help, we need you!  VOLUNTEER NOW!!!
6. Massage Therapists Needed Our canvassers often work full-time, door to door in the heat of summer and the cold of winter.  If you are a massage therapist, or a chiropractor, and wish to donate services to the cause of helping our organizers staying healthy then donate your services to the cause.  VOLUNTEER NOW!!!
