About the Conservation at Home Initiative

Recently SCCA has taken its own initiative to pilot a “Conservation at Home Initiative” that is run through our KYN program. This program is bringing neighbors together to examine their utility bills as individuals and as a group, and SCCA provides a list of best practices to begin to show them how to conserve in their own homes. The list is tiered out into three sections of difficulty of implementation, defined by cost or need for major changes or investment: easy, medium, and more difficult. The residents then come back together after several months of implementing changes and see how their own conservation has impacted their utility bills.
